Homemade Teriyaki Sauce


I baked some chicken thighs with this sauce, basting it every 10 minutes for an hour. I served it with some white rice.  (everyone liked it)


Homemade Teriyaki Sauce

2 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoon cold water

1 cup white sugar

1 cup soy sauce

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar

lots of minced garlic

1 teaspoon fresh ginger

black pepper

red pepper flakes (to taste)

In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the cornstarch, cold water, sugar, soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, ginger and ground black pepper. Let simmer, stirring frequently, until sauce thickens and bubbles.
